I have had the Prussian hanger below for years. I am not quite sure how to date the hanger or how to see the difference between this one and an M/1715.

If there is anyone on the forum that has both the M/1715 and the M/1816 and other variations from the period 1715 -1816. It would be interesting seeing them and compare as well as for an novice on Prussian arms as myself to see the development of this type of hanger.

(There are much fine new manufactured replicas of this saber-type.)

It does have regimential markings on the guard that are fairly detailed.

I don't know whether your saber is a copy. The pictures are to little.

Thank you ! With your link and Mario's M1715 sabers in the "Infantry saber M1715" thread, it creates an good impression of the M1715 and later infantry sabers as well as re-productions.

I will see if I can get some better photos of the M1816 later so that we can find out if it is an reproduction or an very fine example.
